Fly over at Fort San Marcos de Apalachee in St. Marks. Arrival date depends of weather. Stay tuned for more information and check Operation Migration's field journal.

Sat. Jan. 7 (9 am & 1 pm) — Winter Wildlife Tours
Tour with naturalist guide, Don Morrow to view the change of the seasons with birds, mammals, reptiles and plants. Bring binoculars, bug repellent, water and field guides if you have them. Please call (850)925-6121 to register for the 9 am or 1 pm tour.

Sat. Jan. 7 (9 am – noon) — Wildlife Photography Class
No charge but registration required (850)925–6121. Class size limited to 20. Bring your own equipment. Emphasis on digital photography. Taught by Barney Parker, former Wildlife Photography instructor at FSU. Kids are welcome with adults. Meet at Visitor Center.

meet at Wakulla Beach check station 2 pm. Guide – refuge volunteer Paul Hamilton.

Thu. Jan. 12 — Tots on Trails (11 am –)
Ranger-led walk and short activity for 45 minutes, begins at Nature's Classroom. Reservations required. Emphasis on introducing pre-school children to nature safely. Register by calling (850)925-6121.

for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

meets the third Sat. of every month. The Photo Club is free and open to all photographers interested in nature photography; regardless of experience.

Meet at Nature's Classroom area for scavenger hunt, crafts and ranger-led program on wildlife theme for entire family! Theme: Wild About Whoopers!


WHO participantsSat. Feb. 4 (11 am – 4 pm) — 6th Annual Wildlife Heritage & Outdoors Festival (WHO)
Bring the entire family to enjoy exhibits featuring outdoor recreational and cultural activities. Learn about birdwatching, hiking, fishing, cast net making, wooden boat building, flyfishing, life as a lighthouse family, hunting, photography and more! The St. Marks lighthouse will be open for tours from noon - 5 pm. For more information call (850)925–6121.

Sun. Feb. 5 — Tower Mound Archeology Tour (3:30 pm – 5 pm)
Learn about the early Native American settlement in this area. Meet at the Visitor Center at 4 pm. Call to register (850)925-6121.

See the sight of the original Lighthouse and learn about "the Wreck" and Civil War era, Fort Williams. (this is the actual date they landed at the LH!) Meet at the Visitor Center. Call to register (850)925-6121.

on St. Marks Unit for hand-launched boats and gates open into the Panacea Unit until May 15.
