Tower Pond Loop

Tower Pond Trail is an easy 1 mile loop that takes you around Tower Pond. It’s close to the Picnic Area and directly behind the restrooms. You can enter the trail either from the front right of the parking lot or pick up the path directly behind the restroom building.

This trail is a good birding spot. Depending on the season and the tide level in Apalachee Bay, you may see lots of shore birds in the pond. And the hardwoods along the trail are a good spot for passerines. On the north side of the pond there is a photo blind.

On the south side as you walk along the road there are good vistas of the salt marsh leading into the bay. In the warmer months, as will all trails on the refuge that are heavily populated with trees, you’ll want to take bug spray.
